A custom website for szbarquitecto.es, from scratch

Context

szbarquitecto.es is an architecture practice that had no website. Its presence relied on third parties and word of mouth, with no space of its own to show its work and no direct way to get in touch.

Challenge

Start from scratch with a website that reflected the level of the practice, loaded fast, read well on mobile and could be found on Google, without building it on a heavy CMS that nobody would end up maintaining.

Solution

I designed and built the whole site with HTML and JavaScript, no framework and no CMS: fewer layers, fewer dependencies and a website served as static files.

I handled technical SEO from the ground up: heading structure, metadata, semantic markup and performance. The contact form is wired to Resend, so messages reach the practice's inbox with no middleman.

I rebuilt the layout so the mobile experience stopped being a problem and became the site's primary version.

Outcome

The practice has a website of its own for the first time: fast, indexable, easy to maintain and with a direct contact channel. The mobile version, which did not really exist before, noticeably improved reading and navigation.
